CINCINNATI (WCJB) - Former Gator Brandon Sproat was excellent in his MLB debut for the New York Mets Sunday.

The organization showcasing a new starting rotations with some of the MLB’s best young prospects including Nolan McLean, Jonah Tong and Sproat.

He allowed a trio of hits and runs with four walks and seven strikeouts across 6.0 innings pitched on Sunday. Further, posting a no hitter through five innings.

“Taking the mound for the first time in a big-league uniform for the Mets, knowing that I have guys behind me that are supporting me. And then knowing I’ve got my family in the stands cheering for me, and then seeing them after.” Sproat said was his favorite memory on the day looking back during postgame interviews.
