CLEVELAND, Ohio (WKBN) -- Father Michael Garvin was in Rome on Sunday morning during the first "millennial saint" canonization.
Carlo Acutis, a 15-year-old computer whiz, earned the nickname "God's influencer," thanks to his main tech legacy: a multilingual website documenting so-called Eucharistic miracles recognized by the church.
"Sainthood is not just for older people, right? People who, we think, have it all together, so to speak. Sainthood is really for everyone. It's for you, it's for me, it's for the old, it's for the young," said Garvin, regarding Acutis's recognition of sainthood.
In October 2006, at age 15, Acutis fell ill with what was diagnosed as acute leukemia. In the years since his death, young catholics have flocked by the millions to his tomb.
