New Bern, N.C. (WITN) - New Bern hosted their annual historic Bike MS ride on Saturday and Sunday, with almost 1,200 cyclists in attendance.
MS, or multiple sclerosis, is a disease where the immune system attacks protective nerves. The disease affects nearly one million people in the U.S., according to the National MS Society.
Bike MS rides are held to fundraise and help find a cure through research.
There were several mileage options available throughout the two days, as well as a new gravel ride this year.
Bike MS New Bern Director Casey Svanda told WITN she’s always excited to bring more awareness and understanding to MS through the ride.
