A free community football group in Coventry started in March to allow young people to enjoy the activity without paying a hefty price. Since then, it has gone from strength to strength.

Greg Ward is the founder of Cheylesmore Ballerz, which operates at Whitley Common. Greg, who moved to Cheylesmore ten years ago, said the group was created for parents who found football academies and clubs expensive, especially if they have more than one child.

He wanted to offer a platform for girls and boys between 5 and 11 to play on weekends and holidays, make friends, and have fun.
