(KRON) -- Six people were killed after a solo vehicle crash Sunday evening in Napa County, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP). The crash happened around 5:50 p.m. at 6198 Pope Valley Road in an unincorporated community of the county.
Two people were also injured, per CHP. The location of the collision is about 12 miles north of St. Helena.
According to CHP's preliminary investigation, a Toyota Sienna minivan was found off the side of the road with "multiple occupants inside." The minivan was going southbound on Pope Valley Road when the vehicle went off the road and crashed into a tree. Six people died at the scene, CHP said.
The driver of the Toyota, who CHP said was under the influence, and another passenger were airlifted to the hospital for "major" injuries. Authoritie
