(KRON) – A group of tool thieves was arrested after police found thousands of dollars worth of stolen property, said the San Jose Police Department.

San Jose police officers responded to a report of attempted vehicle theft and burglary in West San Jose. Authorities utilized automatic license plate readers to locate the suspect's vehicle, which was at a residence in South San Jose.

Arriving officers arrested a person who was identified as the primary suspect in the case.

More than $50,000 worth of stolen items, which were mostly tools, were found in a search of the residence. Police discovered the attempted robbery was connected to similar burglaries.

Three additional suspects were arrested.

San Jose PD said the tools were returned to its owner.
