WASHINGTON – There's no sign yet that the new head of the Federal Aviation Administration will move to weaken the aviation safety law enacted after the 2009 crash of Continental Connection Flight 3407 in Clarence – but if he does, the Flight 3407 families probably won't be alone in fighting him.
That is because for the first time in memory or maybe ever, there is a congressional caucus aimed at preserving and promoting aviation safety. And it's the creation of a longtime ally of the families: Rep. Nick Langworthy, a Niagara County Republican who represents many Buffalo suburbs as well as the Southern Tier.
