It was a beautiful weekend with temperatures in the 70s and 80s paired with sunny skies, light winds, and low humidity. Today will also be very nice with temperatures in the low 80s this afternoon. Each day this week will be warmer than the last as a ridge of high pressure develops.
The pattern has recently featured a broad area of low pressure over the Great Lakes. This has kept the Eastern half of the United States cool and comfortable, while high pressure has kept the Southwest hot and dry. The area of low pressure weakens while the area of high pressure strengthens.
This change will cause the Ozarks to be warmer than we've been since late August. Temperatures will climb to the low 80s today and will end in the mid-90s by Friday.
