Miss Alabama Emma Terry, of Leeds, placed fourth runner-up in Sunday night's Miss America competition.
The UAB accounting graduate was also awarded for her work on her community impact initiative, "Stomping out ALS One Step at a Time," which she started in honor of her grandfather, who passed away in 2024.
Miss America Abbie Stockard, of Vestavia Hills, handed over her title to Miss New York, Cassie Donegan.
After eight months of traveling the nation as Miss America, Stockard has returned to Auburn University, where she is studying nursing and is on the Tiger Paws dance team.
The theme of this year's pageant in Orlando, Fla., was "World Tour."
