It’s partially the sunshine and the surf. Hawaii is the happiest state in the U.S., according to a new ranking from WalletHub.
With the longest life expectancy of any state and the second-lowest depression rate, Hawaiians clearly enjoy living on an island paradise.
“In addition to pursuing your passions, having a good work-life balance and maintaining an emotional support network, another key way to boost your happiness is living in the right place,” WalletHub Analyst Chip Lupo said in a statement about the personal finance company's new Happiest States report.
The happiest states, he said, are those that have a higher-than-average quality of life in a variety of areas, including strong economies, high-quality health care and good weather.
