A 16-year-old from Lawrence, Massachusetts is making a big splash as starting quarterback at Saint John's Prep in Danvers.

Chris Vargas seems like your average high school sophomore, but he is among the best quarterbacks in the entire country.

For Vargas, football has been a way of life since he was five years old.

"My dad just brought me to a practice, and a kid threw a ball over another kid's head -- I picked it up, threw it to the kid far, and he just knew I was a quarterback," Vargas said.

Head coach Brian St. Pierre played for Boston College and in the NFL after his days as a standout at St. John's. He says Vargas is mature for the age.

"The hype around him is real," St. Pierre said.
