Police broke up an assault along the River Aire which saw two men "going in and out of the water" in Leeds .
The fight occurred by Lemonroyd Lock, in Methley, at about 11.35pm last night (Sunday, September 7). West Yorkshire Police were dispatched to Fleet Lane, which runs along the river.
One man had suffered a hand injury. A man was arrested on suspicion of assault and taken into custody.
A West Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: "At 11.35pm yesterday (Sunday), police received a report of two males fighting in Fleet Lane, Methley.
"It was reported that both males had suffered injuries and the incident was ongoing, with both parties going in and out of the water.
"Emergency services attended and found one man had suffered a hand injury. A man was arrested on suspicion of assault
