ALEXANDRIA, La. (KALB) - September is National Suicide Prevention Month, and it’s a time to remember lives lost to suicide.

Suicide is one of the leading causes of death in the United States.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention , one suicide happens every eleven minutes.

For young people, ranging from 10 to 25 years old, suicide is the second leading cause of death.

That is why families need to discuss concerns and recognize warning signs.
