LANSING, Mich. (WILX) - Construction on Michigan Avenue is advancing in front of University of Michigan Health-Sparrow in Lansing.

The next phase of the project will begin in mid-September and continue through mid-October, extending west in front of the hospital to South Pennsylvania Avenue.

Throughout the project, all emergency services will remain fully operational, and the hospital will stay open and accessible.

During construction, one lane of traffic on Michigan Avenue in front of the hospital will remain open at all times. However, significant delays are expected.

Most motorists are encouraged to access UM Health-Sparrow buildings via the rear entrances on Eureka and Jerome streets to avoid traffic congestion.
