CONCORD, N.H. (WWLP) - The final unidentified victim in the infamous Bear Brook murders, known as the "middle child," has been identified as Rea Rasmussen, bringing closure to a decades-long mystery.
The Bear Brook murders, also known as the Allenstown homicide case, involved the discovery of four victims' remains in Bear Brook State Park, New Hampshire, in 1985 and 2000. In 2017, investigators linked one of the children to Terry Rasmussen, a known serial offender who used aliases including "Bob Evans."
By 2019, three of the victims were identified as Marlyse Honeychurch and her daughters, Marie Vaughn and Sarah McWaters, last seen in California in 1978.
Through extensive DNA analysis and genealogical research, the fourth victim was identified as Rea Rasmussen, daughter of Terry Rasmuss
