INDIANAPOLIS — IMPD on Sept. 8 announced the arrest of a 33-year-old man in connection with a 2024 fatal overdose.

Ladell Dean, of Indianapolis, has been formally charged with dealing in a controlled substance resulting in death, according to online court records.

The incident was reported Dec. 21, 2024 in the 6900 block of Caledonia Circle, near Eagle Creek Parkway and West 46th Street on Indianapolis' northwest side. Officers responding for a welfare check found 31-year-old Aaron Love unresponsive.

Love was pronounced dead at the scene, and the coroner's office later confirmed his cause of death as an the result of a drug overdose.

IMPD's Overdose Death Task Force identified Dean as the suspected dealer in the case, and he was charged by the Marion County Prosecutor's Office.
