HOLLAND, Mich. — A man was found guilty in connection to a 2024 crash where a boat trailer detached and hit two pedestrians, seriously injuring one and killing the other.

Alejandro Chavez was charged with the following in connection to the crash:

OWI while license was suspended, revoked, denied - causing death

Failure to stop at scene of an accident when at fault resulting in death

Operating while license is suspended, revoked, denied - causing serious injury

Failure to stop at the scene of serious personal injury accident

Moving violation causing death

Moving violation causing serious impairment of a body function

A jury found him guilty on all charges.

The crash took place just after 3 p.m. on July 21, 2024 near the intersection of Quincy Street and 140th Avenue.
