STURGIS - After a summer of putting in the work, and the way it played last week, Pennfield had a feeling a victory was coming soon.

The Panthers ended an eight-game losing streak as Pennfield earned a dominant 36-12 victory over Sturgis in non-conference high school football action on Friday, Sept. 5.

"A great win, we love our kids, good win for us. Excited to build on this and get back to work," Pennfield coach Robbie Hattan said.

Pennfield's Tommy Wright ran for two touchdowns and caught a scoring pass from Calvin Paesens to lead the Panthers, who improve to 1-1. Treven Straham and Alex Miller also added scores.

Gavin May led the Pennfield defense with 15 tackles.
