TOWN OF MOIRA, New York (WWNY) - A Brushton man is accused of putting his hands around a child’s neck during an altercation Saturday.
New York State Police say it happened around 10 p.m. on County Route 7 in the town of Moira.
According to police, 29-year-old William Gero had been in a verbal argument with the child that escalated into a physical altercation when Gero placed his hands around the victim’s neck.
Police say the victim did not lose consciousness, but they did sustain red marks around their neck.
Gero was charged with endangering the welfare of a child and criminal obstruction of breathing or blood circulation.
Gero was arrested and arraigned in the Town of Moira Court. He was released on his own recognizance.
