A WestJet plane flying from Toronto to St. Maarten experienced a “hard landing” upon arrival at the Princess Juliana International Airport on Sunday, the airline said in a statement.
WestJet said emergency crews responded immediately and deployed foam as a precaution. The aircraft’s slides were activated and all crew and passengers evacuated safely, with no injuries reported.

Of the 164 people on board, three were taken for medical evaluation “out of an abundance of caution,” the airport said in a statement.
