UNIONDALE, N.Y. (PIX11) — An argument escalated to physical violence against a woman and multiple police officers, according to the Nassau County Police Department.

Everton Brooks, 28, allegedly threw a cellphone at the woman's head and punched her in the face multiple times after a dispute at around 9:45 p.m. on Sunday in a Campus Street residence in Uniondale, detectives said.

Police said the 22-year-old woman left the residence and called 911 after being beaten. Once police located and attempted to arrest Brooks, of Uniondale, he was allegedly "violent and combative," according to authorities.

Police said three officers were injured during the attempted arrest, eventually putting Brooks into custody. He was taken to a local hospital for medical evaluation.
