SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) — The Beaufort County Sheriff's Office (BCSO) announced the deployment of multiple K9 units at local schools.

In an effort to increase the safety and security of Beaufort County schools, BCSO is deploying multiple K9 units that will work on detecting dangerous and prohibited items on school property.

These units will work alongside handlers. The initiative is expected to also serve as a tool for community engagement and strengthen relationships between law enforcement, students and their families.
