TEXAS — New York Attorney General Letitia James said she will intervene in a lawsuit brought by Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton over a doctor prescribing abortion pills to a Texas woman.

But in 2023, New York passed a shield law that protects health care providers who prescribe abortion pills in states where abortion is banned, so a county clerk in New York refused to enforce the judgement earlier
