A look at the future using items from the past.

That’s the pitch for the second “trashion show” put on by Yukon Artists at Work, set for Sept. 20.

The first show was held in 2023. It saw 20 artists creating fashionable pieces using material that would have otherwise ended up as waste.

“The whole idea is to make people think about their buying habits, to make people realize that you can create amazing things with materials that already exist, that you don't have to go out and buy new,” said co-organizer Janet Patterson.

The show planned for September is titled ‘Alternate Evolutions’. It is asking the artists involved to create wearable pieces based on the future evolutions of Earth’s other species in a world without humans.
