Heathrow Airport’s Terminal 4 has been evacuated following a “possible hazardous materials incident”. London Fire Brigade were called just after 5pm, prompting a large response from crews in Feltham, Heathrow, Wembley and surrounding stations.

A statement reads: "Firefighters are responding to a possible hazardous materials incident at Heathrow Airport. Specialist crews have been deployed to carry out an assessment of the scene, and Terminal 4 has been evacuated as a precaution whilst firefighters respond."

Heathrow Airport has since closed the check-in area and is advising passengers not to travel to Terminal 4. All other terminals at the London airport are operating as normal.
