BROOKINGS COUNTY, S.D. (Dakota News Now) - The Brookings County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to a residence east of Brookings on Highway 14 for a vehicle that had collided with a building on Saturday, September 6.

Witnesses and the driver stated the vehicle was travelling east on Hwy 14 when it moved into the westbound lane, entered the north ditch, travelled about 200 yards, then hit the outbuilding on the property.

The vehicle hit 3 supporting posts before resting against the rear axle of a parked 2025 Chrome semi tanker in the shed.

A passing First Responder safely removed the driver from the vehicle, which had heavy smoke present, and advised them to wait for an ambulance.

The Aurora Fire Department arrived and cleared the vehicle of fire danger.
