HAZARD, Ky. (WYMT) - An Eastern Kentucky internet sensation has died.

Helen Van Winkle, 97, died on Sept. 4.

Van Winkle was born on July 18, 1928 in West Liberty, Kentucky.

She became known to the world as “Baddie Winkle” for her unique and flamboyant style.

Van Winkle traveled the world, meeting hundreds of thousands of people as well as publishing a memoir and launching a makeup line.

Visitation will be Sept. 9 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Oldham, Roberts & Powell Funeral Home in Richmond, Kentucky. The funeral will be Sept. 10 at 11:30 a.m. at the funeral home.
