ELDORADO, Ill. (WSIL) -- One person has been charged with murder in connection to a death investigation in Eldorado.

A representative with the Saline County State's Attorney's Office stated Jessie Trout, 25 of Eldorado, has been charged with murder in connection to a death investigation which happened in the early morning hours in Eldorado.

Illinois State Police said the incident happened at around 5:06 a.m. on September 7, 2025, at Benton Street and 1st Street in Eldorado.

Authorities have not released further details as the investigation remains active.

The Eldorado Police Department also said this is an open investigation.

Trout had an initial appearance on Monday, September 8, in front of Judge Clark at the Saline County Courthouse.
