ALMA, Arkansas — An Alma woman walked away from a gas station with a $50,000 lottery ticket, but she says she didn't know that for at least seven months.

Kathy R claimed her prize at the Arkansas Scholarship Lottery (ASL) center in Little Rock on Sept. 5. She told officials that she actually won from a second-chance ticket first purchased in January or February.

Kathy reportedly told ASL she had the tickets sitting in her car for over 6 months at least, "By grace it didn’t end up in the garbage!”

ASL said that Kathy plans to "have fun" with her winnings. The ticket was reportedly purchased at the Oaks Corner on Alma Highway in Van Buren.
