ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — Our town is a town of music.
We hear it in carnivals, concert halls, and coffee shops.
But, some also hear it in addiction treatment centers, thanks to a local organization called Sobriety Sounds.
As one might expect, the first few days of recovery are the worst, sickness and sleep dominating that stretch.
It's during that fragile time many locals starting their journey will meet Matthew Hoye.
Through his non-profit Sobriety Sounds, he and others carry instruments into treatment centers to provide something of a breather for those just trying to get by.
They'll have to group music sessions where everyone gets an instrument, then Matt or someone else will be perform.
