ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — Residents of Walworth gathered at a town meeting to voice their concerns over a new housing development proposal at the Blue Heron Golf Club.

The meeting focused on plans by Jason Calder of Calder Homes and Windward Lake Holmes LLC to redevelop the Blue Heron Golf Club into single-family homes. Residents expressed their concerns about the potential loss of community benefits and natural habitat.

"You are the conscience of all of these residents. Losing this area will severely diminish one of our key community benefits," one resident said during the meeting.

The resident emphasized that the golf course is not just about the activity of golfing but also about the beauty of the grounds, landscaping, natural habitat, and the buffer it provides between zones.
