Florida football coach Billy Napier said he plans to hold onto play calling and that quarterback D.J. Lagway will continue to have the power to audible at the line of scrimmage following UF's 18-16 loss to USF on Sept. 6.

Under Napier, the Florida Gators ’ offense generated 355 yards against the Bulls and struggled in the red zone, coming away with 13 points (one TD and two field goals) in three trips. Napier lamented the missed red zone scoring chances. Florida settled for three field goals in the first half, taking a 9-6 lead into halftime.

"The red-zone scoring early really caused us to lose the momentum," Napier said. "We had a chance to really take control of the game. I think that's an important lesson."
