York Regional Police are asking for the public's help in identifying suspects involved in a failed home invasion in Vaughan, Ontario. The incident occurred on August 31 at around 2:20 a.m. Officers responded to reports of a home invasion in progress near Major Mackenzie Drive and Highway 27.
Upon arrival, police discovered that three male suspects, dressed in dark clothing and wearing face coverings, had attempted to break into a residence. They reportedly tried to force their way inside by smashing the glass of the front door. At least one of the suspects was armed with a handgun during the incident.
At the time of the attempted break-in, there were two adults and two children inside the home. Fortunately, no injuries were reported, and nothing was stolen. The suspects fled the scene in a dark-colored sport utility vehicle after the home's security alarm was activated.
Investigators are urging anyone with information about the incident or the suspects to come forward.
