Daniel Jones had two 1-yard touchdown runs Sunday in the Indianapolis Colts ' season-opening 33-8 victory over the Miami Dolphins .
His first, early in the second quarter, came with a surprise: A helmet-to-helmet hit (sides of each player's helmet) from Dolphins linebacker Bradley Chubb .
"I got hit pretty good there," Jones acknowledged Monday on the " Pat McAfee Show ." "He came out of nowhere. I thought I had a little more space there. That was a good 'welcome to the season' hit there."
Jones also plunged in from 1 yard in the fourth quarter, ushering in what McAfee called the "Dimes Dive" era.
"You're bigger, stronger, faster than anybody thinks," McAfee said, encouraging Jones to sneak on short-yardage plays more often. Looking for a free mini puzzle? Play the USA TODA
