As the New York Mets' starting rotation takes shape for the postseason, one veteran starter is in jeopardy of losing the rest of the season to an injury.

Tylor Megill looked shaky in his most recent minor league rehabilitation start. Pitching Sunday for Triple-A Syracuse, Megill struggled through two innings, allowing four hits, five earned runs, two walks, and two hit by pitches.

The news only got worse Monday. According to multiple reports, the Mets are ordering another MRI on Megill's right elbow and shutting down his rehab program.

With three weeks left in the regular season, Megill might not pitch again until 2026.

Megill was 5-5 with a 3.95 ERA (103 ERA+) in 14 starts before he was sidelined with the elbow injury in June. An MRI at the time revealed no structural damage .
