HARTFORD, Conn. (WFSB) - Terrence Cheng is one of the highest paid state employees, and state republicans say they have no idea what he’s doing with your money.
As of July 1st, Cheng is no longer CSCU chancellor. He transitioned to the role of special advisor to the board of regents after a year of controversy.
A state audit found thousands of dollars in questionable spending by Cheng on his travel, meals and entertainment.
Senate minority leader Stephen Harding and other state republicans first wrote to the Board of Regents in early July asking for the defined duties for Cheng’s new role in writing.
“If we’re going to be paying an individual $400,000 a year in state, taxpayer funds, what is that person going to do?” said Harding.
