ST. TAMMANY PARISH, La. (WGNO) — A Slidell man was convicted in a "foot fetish" sexual battery case on Tuesday, Sept. 4.

According to the 22nd Judicial District Attorney's Office, 47-year-old Bobby Mendell Bester was found guilty by a St. Tammany Parish jury.

According to testimony during the trial, the Slidell Police Department received a report in March 2018 about a sexual assault at a nursing home on Robert Boulevard. Upon arrival the 69-year-old victim told officers that Bester, who reportedly was a janitor at the facility, entered her room while she was lying in bed. She said he commented about one of her socks being on the floor and offered to put them back on her. The district attorney's office reported that he then began touching her feet inappropriately.
