WARWICK, R.I. (WPRI) — T.F. Green International Airport continues to put Rhode Island on the map by gaining national recognition.

The Rhode Island Airport Corporation (RIAC) announced Monday that the Warwick airport was nominated for Best Small Airport in the USA Today 10BEST Reader's Choice Awards.

According to RIAC, a panel of travel experts and editors from the publication selected the nominees. T.F. Green was highlighted for its shorter lines compared to Boston Logan Airport and its proximity to destinations like Cape Cod.

As for who makes the top 10, the decision is left up to the public. Voting for the awards opened at noon on Monday and will be open through 11:59 a.m. on Oct. 6.

As of 4:30 p.m. on Monday, T.F. Green was ranked 9th with Huntsville International Airport in Alabama
