NACOGDOCHES, Texas (KTRE) - Two Nacogdoches residents were arrested on August 29 following a chase with Texas DPS and Nacogdoches County Sheriff’s deputies.

According to the sheriff’s office, they and DPS troopers attempted to do a traffic stop on a Hyundai in the 5000 block of Hwy 59 in Nacogdoches County. The driver, identified as Shydaja Williams, 26, did not pull over in a timely manner, so a pursuit began. During the pursuit, the sheriff’s office said that the passenger, identified as Roy Casey, Jr., 30, began throwing drugs out of the vehicle. They say the drugs were numerous ounces of powder cocaine, as well as multiple pounds of meth.

Finally, Williams stopped the vehicle, and both of them were taken into custody.
