A 48-year-old man from Toronto has been charged with second-degree murder following the death of a 21-year-old woman found injured in a vehicle near High Park. The incident occurred last Friday, and the victim has been identified as Serenity Brown.
Toronto police responded to a medical call in the Glenlake and High Park Avenues area shortly before 6 p.m. Upon arrival, officers and paramedics discovered Brown inside a vehicle. She was transported to a hospital, where she later succumbed to her injuries.
Brown's death marks the 30th homicide in Toronto this year. Police have not disclosed the cause of death but confirmed that Brown had an interaction with the accused prior to the police's arrival.
The suspect, Trinel Thornhill, was arrested on Monday and is scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday. Authorities have stated that the victim and the accused were known to each other.
