ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) - After a motorcyclist lost control of his bike on the interstate, he crashed into the median and had to have his leg amputated.
The motorcycle crash caused traffic delays and back-ups on Interstate 270 for over an hour early Thursday morning on August 28.
That day started as a normal Thursday morning for Josh Hawks, but in an instant, his life changed completely.
“I pretty much remember all of it,” Hawks said.
Hawks was driving to work on August 28. As he went to take the Page exit from I-270, he said he hit a bump and lost control of his motorcycle.
“I did everything I could think to do and just stay calm,” Hawks said.
Hawks said he was hoping a car would hit him so he could land on their hood.
