BISMARCK, N.D. (KFYR) - A Golden Valley woman is using more than medicine to get through her cancer treatment. She uses her love of art to benefit others.

Doctors diagnosed Hannah Schantz with acute T-cell lymphoblastic leukemia, an aggressive form of blood cancer, during her senior year of high school.

But her personality as a goal-setter motivated her to fight the disease.

“When I got sick, I told my family, we’re going to get through this. I didn’t want to see them hurt. I didn’t want to see them sad. So, in my brain, I’m like, ‘I’m going to keep pushing to be who I am and to still accomplish what I want to,’” said Schantz.
