NILES A portion of the Niles Greenway Bike Trail will close temporarily for maintenance, according to an advisory from the City of Niles.
According to the advisory, the closure began on Monday and will be in place until Wednesday, September 10.
The closure affects the bike trail between McKees Lane and Rupple Road.
The Niles Greenway Bike Trail was completed in 2012, spanning four miles.
The trail stretches out from Church Street, near the downtown area of Niles, to the end of the county line where the Mill Creek MetroParks Bikeway begins, according to the "Trail History" section on the Greenway Bike Trail's website .
The bike trail is a paved, multi-use path that passes through a mix of wooded areas, scattered light industrial estates and a few backyards.
