STARKVILLE, Miss. (KFDA) - Spearman alum, Brenen Thompson, made quite the name for himself Saturday night after catching what would be the game-winning touchdown for Mississippi State against the Arizona State Sun Devils.

His first touchdown came in the second quarter off a 47-yard pass from quarterback Blake Shapen to give the Bulldogs a 17-0 lead.

Arizona State would make a comeback, though, leading by three with only 30 seconds on the clock in the fourth quarter, but Shapen would find Thompson wide open for a 58-yard pass for a touchdown that would become the game-winning touchdown.

This is Mississippi State’s first win over a top-15 non-conference opponent since 1991.
