FORREST COUNTY, Miss. (WDAM) - A trial date has been set for Pine Belt attorney Cory Ferraez, who is accused of taking money from three bankruptcy cases dating back to 2019 and 2020.

Ferraez was indicted in 2021 on four counts of embezzlement.

Court records show the case has faced multiple delays and changes over the past three years.

2022: All Forrest County judges recused themselves from hearing the case, and a special judge was appointed.

2022: The Forrest County District Attorney’s Office was disqualified, and a special prosecutor was brought in.

July 2025: The special prosecutor retired, and the special judge appointed a new one.

Last week, Ferraez’s attorney appeared in court, and a trial date was set for March 2026.

This isn’t the first time Ferraez has faced legal trouble.
