Two Toronto firefighters were injured and several people displaced due to a residential fire that damaged two houses and a vehicle in the city's east end on Monday.
The two-alarm fire broke out in a home on Yardley Avenue near Victoria Park Avenue, north of St. Clair Avenue E. Firefighters were called to the scene shortly before 6 p.m.
Toronto Fire Services said the blaze spread to a home next door and burned a vehicle in between the two houses.
When crews arrived, they encountered heavy smoke and flames.
No one was in the first home that caught fire but nearby houses were evacuated, Toronto Fire Services said.
The injured firefighters were taken to a local hospital, where they were assessed and treated for minor injuries, according to Toronto paramedics.
