Theatrically hawking darts and a chance to win big at the “Balloon Bust” booth — “3 Shot $10” — the trained and chiseled voice of Warren Blasich, a former actor in New York, rose above the general clamor of the day, his cattle bells rattling sharply along the crowded midway.
Blasich, 58, has been on the job 43 years with Reithoffer Shows, the carnival company behind the rides and some of the amusements at the New Mexico State Fair. But although this nomadic occupation — on the road nine months a year — can prove hard on your knees, Blasich’s commitment to showmanship does not wane.
