SHREVEPORT, La. — The Shreveport Police Department has partnered with Community Renewal International to kick off registration for National Night Out, an annual event promoting police-community partnerships.

This year's celebration, designed to heighten crime prevention awareness, will be held on Oct. 7 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

The registration event was held today at the newest Community Police Kids Corner (CPKC) Friendship House on Legardy Street. The Friendship Houses are safe spaces for families, offering after-school programs, community projects, and neighborhood support.
