The Global Sumud Flotilla carrying climate and political activist Greta Thunberg has been struck by a drone, according to the protest group.

One of the main boats, carrying steering committee members and sailing under a Portuguese flag, was targeted in Tunisian waters.

In a statement released on Monday, the group claimed the vessel – known as the Family Boat – was “struck by a drone”.

“Acts of aggression aimed at intimidating and derailing our mission will not deter us,” the organisers said.

The group has uploaded footage of the apparent “attack” which shows a man flinch as a bright light appears and fizzles on the deck of the boat.

“Fire damage was caused to the main deck and below deck storage. An investigation is currently under way,” the group said in their statement.
