MUSKEGON, MI - Muskegon County residents in May will vote on a millage that would allow the Lakeshore Museum Center to expand exhibit space and modernize educational programs for children.
Community leaders, educators and parents have launched the Preserving Muskegon’s History campaign to educate county residents about the impacts of the construction millage on the May 6 ballot.
The funding would support long-needed upgrades at the Lakeshore Museum Center’s Muskegon Museum of History & Science, 430 W Clay Ave.
“It will help us educate the kids and keep our history accessible for the seniors and those with mobility needs,” said Museum Executive Director Melissa Horton. “In turn, for their help, we’ll make sure it stays free for county residents.”
